Chris and I are at that age where a lot of our friends are starting to get married, which, for us, is perfect because what better wedding present is there than some custom neckties for your wedding? It's great because we get to hang out with our friends, give them something unique for their big day, and have a helping hand in the wedding itself. One of the first couples we did this for was Heidi and Sean, two of Chris' closest friends from college.
They had a pretty straight forward color scheme: purple and blue. They had a specific color of blue that they wanted to match from the bridesmaid dresses and, like me, Heidi is an artist, so the color had to be absolutely perfect. What we landed on was easily one of my favorite patterns we've chosen to date: a large sized blue and white plaid pattern, with accents of orange, red, and brown. What was so great about this was the each tie was going to look completely different without being too out of the box. We paired the plaid pattern with a soft lavender purple on the tail and the interlining. We wanted to make sure Sean separated himself from the rest of the groomsmen a little bit too, so we decided to play with his pocket square. Each groomsmen would have a matching pocket square and tie, but Sean would have a solid purple one. This would tie into the purple flowers that Heidi had in her bouquet of flowers.
Chris took a large investment in this wedding and wanted to make sure that each tie was perfect. Not only are Heidi and Sean two of his closest friends, but he was going to be in the wedding himself and Chris wanted everyone to look sharp. He went so far as to tie Sean's tie for the big day, just to make sure it was perfect.
All things said and done, the wedding turned out better than we could have hoped! The pattern was unique and engaging, but really tied in the colors that I knew Heidi was looking for. The best part was that Chris got to design and build a set of ties for two of his closest friends' wedding, and even got to keep one for himself!
