What We Do
What We Do.
Handmade Ties, Bow Ties, and Pocket Squares
Our products each take hours to make. Each pattern is hand drawn or digitally created for uniqueness and each fabric is chosen for vibrancy and quality. Every length of fabric is cut by hand and stitched together using a Singer Featherweight 221, a sewing machine that was first introduced at the Chicago World Fair in 1933; our machines were made in 1950 and 1957 (both hand-me-downs from Hugh's great-grandmother). Each product is hand made by one of the two founders of HIM, Hugh and Chris, from start to finish. We make sure each is perfectly crafted before it is sold. Once it's done, we tie it off with some butcher’s twine and it’s off to you.
Bespoke Ties and Bow Ties
We make commissioned products designed and tailored to the customer’s specifications. In making a bespoke tie or bow tie, customers are promised that their tie is one of a kind and never to be replicated unless otherwise specified. In commissioning a tie, the customer receives a consultation where they work with HIM to determine the material and the pattern that the tie will be made from. Materials range from basic combed cotton to silk and either solid or custom designed patterns can be chosen. Pricing is determined on a case by case basis and includes the consultation, materials, and labor. We don’t take any payment until you are completely satisfied with your Bespoke HIM product. Much like our bespoke products, we have the ability to make the perfect tie or bow tie, pattern or solid, for your wedding. We are able to create a unique accessory specific to your ideal wedding and you are guaranteed that no one else will ever have that pattern. Whether you want something hand drawn or digitally designed, we will go the extra mile to make sure that everything is perfect. For more information send an email to Hugh@himclothing.com.
